SC Jamir at Xaviers UniversityHonourable Governor of Odisha, Dr. SC Jamir on Friday pitched for the need of more management professionals in the nation building process while addressing at the first convocation of Xaviers University Bhubaneswar and 24th convocation of   Xaviers Institute of Management Bhubaneswar.

Quoting Thomas Edison, Jamir said Innovation is one percent inspiration and 99 per cent perspiration. Though the country has made huge strides in the IT sector it is still lagging behind in the infrastructure sector. The management students should have the skill to cope with scarcity.

Only thing permanent in life is change. There are new trends in every sector. The future managers should think of solutions and should be competitive for their respective companies and the country, the Governor said.

He said the country can send spacecraft to Mars. But basic facilities have not reached many people. It is due to lack of proper management. The passed out graduates have great opportunities and the degree would open new frontiers. He urged the students to find a career according to their dreams.

Chairman of XIMB and XUB Rajiv Kaul said the students will enter a new exciting world with challenges and opportunities. As after the global economic slowdown, India’s economy has recovered and expected to record an eight per cent growth and all students will be integral part of the country’s growth.
