Odisha: High Level Committee Reviews Lower Suktel Project
A high level committee visited the Lower Suktel Irrigation Project at Magurbeda, Balangir and reviewed its status. The committee comprised of Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Chairman, Western Odisha Development Council and Principal Advisor to CM Asit Kumar Tripathy, 5T Secretary V. K. Pandian and Anu Garg, Principal Secretary, Water Resource Department and other senior officials of WR Dept.
The committee discussed issues related to rehabilitation and resettlement of the displaced people due to the Lower Suktel project. It directed for expediting the project.
The committee also visited the Nrusinghanath temple and Harishankar temple and discussed about the development of the temple areas.
The temples will undergo transformation in terms of beautification, pilgrim amenities, approach roads, tourist facilities, trekking routes, feasibility of ropeway, facilities for marriage halls, water conservation features.
