Odisha Higher Education Minister meets Non-Govt College Lecturers

non-govt college-lecturersBhubaneswar, Aug 26: Odisha Higher Education Minister Pradip Panigrahi discussed with the representative s of non-government and aided teachers (lecturers) at Secretariat here on Tuesday.  Around 4,000 non-government and aided teachers (lecturers) in Odisha had called off their strike on August 21, after getting assurance from the Higher Education Minister.

As per the assurance, the minister invited the representatives of the non-government college lecturers union and discussed over their issues. The ministry informed about this development in a statement issued here.

The lecturers have been demanding regularization of their service, regular DA, implementation of the grant-in-aid (GIA) system of salary payment and post retirement benefits. In the meeting the minister assured to fulfill their demands.  The Principal Secretary of Higher Education Department and other senior officials were attended the meeting.
