Odisha Illegal Mining: Notice issued to 7 leaseholders to stop operations

ONI Bureau:  The The State government today issued notice to seven mine leaseholders to halt their operations as they failed to pay fine by December 31 deadline.

Reportedly from all total 131 leaseholders who had been asked to pay penalty, 72 mine leaseholders were paid the fine.

It is to be noted that earlier, the Supreme Court issued a notification saying, mining companies that had been operating without necessary clearances in Odisha would be subject to a 100% penalty.
