Odisha to launch Measles and Rubella Vaccine from January

Insight Bureau:  With the National target of Measles elimination and Rubella Control by 2020, Odisha is all set to conduct the Measles & Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign in January next year.

Under the programme, two doses of measles vaccine will be given to children at 9-12 months and 16-24 months of age.

Parents, community leaders, health workers, teachers and anganwaadi workers will be made active part in this campaign.

Reportedly, the MR vaccine was manufactured by Pune-based Serum Institute of India.
