Odisha labourers stranded in surat while returning to their home state in a hired bus had to face an unforeseen tragedy. Prakash Chandra Gaud who is a resident of Narayanpur village in Suroda area of Odisha’s Ganjam district died in the vehicle in Chhattisgarh in the wee hours of Saturday amid nationwide lockdown for coronavirus outbreak.
Reports state that 55 migrant labourers from Odisha were returning to the state from Surat after hiring a bus two days back. All the passengers hail from different places in Ganjam district. Prakash was also there on the bus. However, he fell sick and died midway near Chhattisgarh.
While the exact cause behind the death is yet to be determined. His funeral was conducted in the neighbouring state Chhattisgarh.
