Odisha Minister reviews National Water Way Number-5 work

Ramesh-MajhiBhubaneswar, Nov 13: Odisha Commerce & Transport Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi directed officials to start dredging work for the National Water Way Number-5, while addressing a review meeting with officials at State Secretariat here on Friday.

The Minister asked officials complete the dredging work and start trial run on the water ways by December. He said in order to develop National Water Way Number-5, Odisha government signed a MoU with IWAI, Paradeep Port and Dhamara Port on June 30.

The aim of the MoU was to provide water transport facilities to industrial hubs at Talcher, Angul, Kalinga Nagar, Dhamra Port and Paradeep Port. In the meeting, the minister directed IWAI official for the construction of temporary terminal as mentioned in the MoU signed by the state government. And, Majhi also asked officials to prepare draft project over this. The IWAI officials assured to start the dredging work by December 15.
