Odisha Nagarika Samaj submits memorandum to CM

Odisha Nagarika SamajBhubaneswar, Oct 6: A delegating of Odisha Nagarika Samaj (ONAS) demands handed over a memorandum over lapses in the Odisha Right to Public Service Act, 2012 to the Principal Secretary of General Administration of Odisha Government G VV Sharma on Monday at secretariat. They addressed the memorandum to the Chief Minister.

ONAS members alleged that the BJD government in Odisha has lost faith of the people over the Odisha Right to Public Service Act that was passed in 2012 by the state government prior to the assembly elections. They said that the government failed in implementing the act in the state properly delivering justice to the people.

Many people in the state have been waiting for justice under the public services bill for months. There are many lapses in the act including – no specific forms to file complaints, not acknowledge after filing complaint, no time limitation for the revision authorities’ hearing. They tried to draw the attention of the chief minister though their memorandum. After discussion with the delegation of ONAS, the Principal Secretary has assured to look into the lapses in the act. The delegation led by Subas Panda, Pradeep Pradhan and Satikanta Pradhan.
