Odisha: OSMCL launches E-tender Policy

OSMCL launches E-tender PolicyOdisha State Medical Corporation Ltd (OSMCL) today launches an e-tender policy for procurement and distribution of essential medicines at free of cost to the common people of the state. The e-tender will be open nationally and the highest bidder will take responsibility for procurement and distribution of medicines. However, OSMCL will monitor the entire process.

Medicines will be provided for both communicable and non – communicable diseases. Initially, the OSMCL will open its medicine outlets at 32 district headquarter hospitals, three medical colleges and Acharya Harhar Cancer Hospital.

OSMCL launches E-tender PolicyThe patients need to submit the medicine prescription at the concerned outlet on which they can receive the required medicines and other necessary equipments at free of cost.

For this new project, the state government has made an annual outlay of Rs 200 crore for 2015-16.

The e-tender initiative will certainly ensure greater transparency and accountability in health services for the best interest of needy people in the state. Health Minister Atunu Sabyasachi and NRHM Director Roopa Mishra graced the occasion.
