Odisha Police arrest a Youth for trying to extort MLA

Odisha Police today arrested a 20 year old young man named Sushant Nayak for allegedly extorting money from Daspalla MLA Purna Chandra Nayak. He claimed himself as a Maoist.

“Sushant Nayak had been making repeated call to MLA and demanded him Rs 25 lakh” he confessed in front of police.

Odisha police has seized the SIM card and mobile phone. An FIR has been lodged at the Daspalla police station under Sec 385, 387, 506, 419, 467 of IPC and Sec 66 of IT Act. against Sushant Nayak, Nayagarh SP said.

In his defense, Sushant Nayak told media persons that his family problems and financial crisis forced him to do such criminal activities.
