Odisha Police launches Citizen Portal Twitter Handle

Citizen-Portal-TwitterInsight Bureau: The Odisha Police has launched a new Twitter handle to serve the citizens in a better way. The official Twitter handle – @OPCitizenPortal is the helpdesk of Citizen Portal of Odisha Police, which is available at https://citizenportal-op.gov.in/citizen/ .

“We are on Twitter and here are our services for citizens”, reads their first tweet, which lists all services available on the web portal.

Here’s the message from DGP Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sharma on the Citizen Portal:

“Odisha Police is committed to implement transparency, technology & team work in Odisha Police. In process of delivering good Governance in the state, Odisha Police has taken a major step by introducing an ambitious as well as mission mode project under National e-Governance plan namely Crime & Criminal Tracking Network and system. The system intends to create a National Data base and Citizen Centric Portal for interface with Citizens. The goals of the system are to facilitate collection, storage, retrieval, analysis, transfer and sharing of data and information. Odisha Police is committed towards time bound delivery of Police services to the citizens. In order to provide better and quick services to citizen, Odisha Police has launched “Citizen Portal” under CCTNS Project through Internet which enables citizens to register their Complaints and seek services from Police Department without visiting Police station/ Higher Offices. It also enables them to track the status of their Complaints/Service requests online.”Citizen Portal” will make available one extra channel to access services from Police through internet. Citizens will get benefits in terms of better, simplified and quick services from Police Department.”
