Odisha Rajya Sabha Polls: Three Senior BJD Candidates file Nominations

Prasanna Acharya, Bishnu Charan Das, N Bhaskar Rao to Rajya SabhaIn the presence of Party Supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, on Monday the three senior BJD leaders Bishnu Charan Das, Prasanna Acharya and N Bhaskar Rao file their nomination papers at the Odisha Assembly for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha polls.

As per the nomination guidelines the three candidates submitted two sets of papers having 10 proposers.

To get elected to the Upper House of the Parliament each candidate requires the support of 37 MLAs since BJD has the requisite numbers, all the three will get elected hassle free.

The deadline for withdrawal of candidatures is June 3 while elections would be conducted in the Assembly building on June 11 between 9 am and 4 pm and counting of votes would also take place the same day.

The election for the three Rajya Sabha seats in the State is scheduled to take place on June 11.
