Odisha: Sarathi Baba taken to Crime Branch Office for Questioning

Celebrations in Kendrapara, as Sarathi Baba taken to Crime Branch custody for questioning. He is NOT ARRESTED YET. After 14-hour-long questioning at Barimula Ashram in Kendrapara, he was brought to Crime Branch HQ in Cuttack at 4 AM today.

Rs 2 lakh, gold and silver ornaments as well as sensitive documents were seized from his office (Ashram). Crime Branch confirms allegations of financial irregularities and land fraud against him. However, there is no report of any chit fund allegations against him.

Questioning will continue today. If needed, he will be taken to outside ODISHA for further investigation. Crime Branch IG Arun Bothra revealed that Sarathi Baba is accused of cheating, playing with emotion of people and land fraud as well as the Hyderabad issue. “We will consider all angles and conduct a free, fair and robust investigation to reach a logical conclusion,” he confirmed.
