Odisha Synthetic Shramik Sangha threatens Mass Suicide on June 10
Dhenkanal, June 3: Today Odisha Synthetic Shramik Sangha members met Dhenkanal District Collector Smt. Roopa Roshan Sahoo and ADM Sri Yudhistir Nayak under leadership of Industrial Loser Citizen Forum State President, Anti Corruption Activist, Farmer Leader Er. Debashisha Hota, handed over a notice of Mass Suicide on 10th June 2015 at 8 AM in front of Dhenkanal Collectorate.
It’s here noteworthy that, Odisha Synthetic Shramik Sangha is a Registered Trade Union of the Synthetic Company situated at Baulapur in Odapada Tahasil working from 1986. The company allegedly illegally stopped entry of 111 principal employees into the plant on 12th June 2003 and then rest principal employees from August 2008. The company also illegally stopped entry of 25 Casual Employees into the plant during 2001. It hasn’t given any compensation or dues from that date to the employees.
The employees ran to the CM Navin Pattanaik, Labour Minister Local MLA Prafulla Mallick, Collector & DLO number of times. They recently gheraoed Mr. Mallick on 20th May in front of Dhenkanal Collectorate. But, everything goes in vain.
Yesterday, they saw an illegal Entry of Vehicle No. OR-06-G-4121 & OR-02-BQ-5325 into the company & Democratically objected it since without giving any compensation and arrears dues to the company Reliance Industries Limited tried to transfer the Assets / Equipments to another similar company.
It may be sorrily pleaded here that the 242 Principal Employees & 25 Casual Employees, since long are go on starvation by losing their service and by not getting any salary or compensation. This high handedness action of the Company not only a hurdle, but also meant to drag the poor employees to commit suicide or to die leading to Criminal liabilities.
Hence, they request the State Government through the Collector to compel Reliance Industries Limited , the company to clear all the compensation & dues before the movement of its equipments. Else, we’ll be compeled to Commit Mass Suicide on 10th June 2015 at 8 AM in front of Dhenkanal Collectorate, Odisha Synthetic Shramik Sangha President Ratnakar Lenka, General Secretary Budhimant Sahany, Advisor Bharat Sahu, Treasurer Babaji Rout, Executive Body Members Pratap Bhol, Mathuri Naik,Nandakishore Baral, Banamali Mallik, Anam Parida, Rohit Barik, Abhin Rout, Manoj Sahoo, Susant Das, Sudarsan Jena, Chhabi Naik, Rabi Mallik, threatened in a letter to the Collector on this occasion.
