Odisha Teachers’ stir to continue as talks with State Govt fail

Insight Bureau: The agitating teachers on Thursday decided to continue their strike till the Odisha government issues a notification agreeing to their three-charter of demands.

Earlier the School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra had requested the teachers to cease their strike and assured to look into their matter by November 30.

It is  to be noted that thousands of teachers under the banner of two teachers’ associations – Primary Teachers’ Association and Odisha Siksha Sahayak Sangha are on protest at Lower PMG demanding fulfillment of their demands including hiking their Grade Pay from Rs 2200 to Rs. 2800.
