Odisha to implement 7th Pay Commission Recommendations

As a Diwali bonanza, Odisha Government on Friday announced to implement the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission for its employees and pensioners.

Announcing the decision, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said it will benefit about four lakh state government employees and more than three lakh pensioners. Implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission will put an additional burden of about 5100 crore on the state exchequer.

In this connection, a fitment committee will be formed for the preparation of guidelines for the implementation of the recommendations.
