Odisha Tourism Minister launches Tourist Police Fleet in Puri

Odisha Tourism & Culture Minister Ashok Panda has launched a fleet of Tourist Police in Puri today. DGP Sanjeev Marik was present at the occasion. chief Secretary Gokul Chandra Pati and Tourism Secretary Arvind Padhee were also present during the launch ceremony.

The Tourist Police fleet consists of seven police personnel. They will operate at the Sea Beach a Police Station. They will handle only tourist related cases. This Puri model will be implemented at six other tourist destinations in Odisha.

Apart from Puri, the Tourist Police fleet will be set up at Satapada, Konark, Dhauli, Nandankanan, Lingaraj Temple and Gopalpur. All these fleets will be attached to existing police stations and will be controlled by the IICs.
