Odisha Traders agree to sell Pulses at State-Regulated Price

Pulses-OdishaBhubaneswar, Oct 29: The traders of Cuttack Malgodown have called off their stir and agreed to sell dal at the state-regulated price form Thursday. They called strike opposing state government officials’ raids at their godowns over illegal stacking of pulses and demanding the government to return the seized pulses.

They decided to end their strike after discussed with Cuttack Collector Nirmal Chandra Mishra on Wednesday. The Cuttack district collector told media the district administration would open five counters in Cuttack city to sell ‘Rahar Dal’ and ‘Mung Dal’ at Rs 135 and Rs 100 per kilo respectively.

Notably, concerning over the skyrocketing price of pulses, the state government on Wednesday has decided to set up distribution centres in six cities to sell pulses at regulated price. Over this direction has been given all district administrations in the state.

The distribution centres will be opened at Balasore, Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Roukela and Sambalpur. From these centres customers can get pulses at regulated price. As per the State Government’s decision, one kilo of ‘harar’ dal will be sold at Rs 140 while ‘mung’ dal will be sold at Rs 110.
