Odisha Truck Owners Body to go on Strike from June 9

truck owners threatens strikeCuttack, May 21: The Odisha Truck Owners’ Association declared to go on strike from June 9 protesting against the order of Odisha government to revoke the permits and licences of truck owners and drivers after accidents.

Including this, the association has prepared 11-point charter to be fulfilled by the Odisha government. Addressing media, Rabi Satapathy, secretary of Odisha Truck Owners’ Association, said that if the government fails to fulfil their demands by June 9, the association members will go on indefinite strike. Satapathy informed that around 1.3 lakh truck will join the protest against the government.

Ramesh Majhi, Transport Minister, said that he will discuss with truck owners over their list of demands. Recently, the Private Bus Owners Association was also decided to on strike demanding proper fair hike mechanism in the staet from June 5.
