Odisha youth arrested by NIA over LeT Terrorist links

INS Bureau:  Odisha man from Kendrapara was arrested from Delhi’s IGI Airport over Saudi-Based LeT Terrorist links, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) confirmed today.

Habibur Rahaman alias Habib is currently based out of Riyadh in Saudi Arabia was arrested on Sunday on charges of being a terrorist handler of Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

Habibur was one of the handlers of LeT terrorist Shaikh Abdul Naeem alias Nomi who was arrested in 2007 and later escaped from custody in August 2014 while he was being taken for court attendance from Kolkata to Maharashtra, informed NIA.

As per NIA souces, Habibur Rahman arranged hideouts and funds for Nomi for carrying out terrorist activities in India.

However, DGP in-charge Satyajit Mohanty said that Odisha police will cooperate with NIA, will provide all information about Habib to probe Lashkar-e-Taiba’s Odisha links.
