Odisha’s Gangadhar Meher Varsity to start French course from January

ONI Bureau:  The Gangadhar Meher University (GMU) in Sambalpur district will offer French course from January next year.

The Varsity will run the course on a self-financing basis. However fees to be charged for the course and the number of seats yet to be finalized, the deputy registrar Uma Charan Pati informed.

Reportedly, Paulasti Patel,  a retired professor of French from the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will teach the six-month course.

It has been noted that the Sambalpur College was established in 1944 and the name was changed after the illustrious Odia poet, Gangadhar Meher in 1949. It was upgraded to a university in 2015, and has been renamed as Gangadhar Meher University.
