Offshore Patrol Vessel ‘Vijaya’ reaches Coast Guard Fleet at Paradip

ONI Bureau:  The Indian Coast Guard commissioned the indigenously built an Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) ‘Vijaya’ with advanced navigation and communication equipment.

The 98-metre ship ‘Vijaya’, manned by 12 officers and 91 soldiers based at Paradip in Odisha for extensive surveillance in the Exclusive Economic Zone on Thursday.

It will boost maritime protection of vast coastline of eastern seaboard in general and the maritime states of Odisha and West Bengal.

The vessel was launched by Defence secretary, Sanjay Mitra on September 14.
