Orissa HC allows OTV Journalist Niranjan Reddy to cover Hockey World Cup

ONI Bureau: The Orissa High Court on Monday has directed the International Hockey Federation, Hockey India and Odisha Goverment to grant permission to Odisha’s leading news channel OTV’s Sports Correspondent Niranjan Reddy for the Men’s Hockey World Cup.

Niranjan Reddy, one of the finest Sports Journalists in Odisha, who is extremely popular for his coverage of sporting events and unique stories, was snubbed by the Odisha Sports Secretary Vishal Dev for entering into his cabin without permission before the World Cup commenced.

Later, he received an email from International Hockey Federation (FIH) that “due to overwhelming international response”, his accreditation to cover the Hockey World Cup was cancelled.

The accreditation of Reddy was earlier accepted on November 7, but withdrawn on November 26.
