Orissa High Court granted bail to former Crime Branch DSP Pramod Panda in Artha Tatwa (AT) Group chit fund case on Friday. CBI had lodged case against Panda for his alleged involvement in the AT chit fund case. The court, however, rejected the bail petition of Astha International’s Odisha head Subhransu Lenka, who was arrested in June 2013 for cheating investors of the state.
The High Court granted bail to Panda on a bail bond of Rs. 10 lakh and directed him to surrender his passport. The court also asked Panda to cooperate with the CBI team in their investigation in the chit fund scam case.
In this case, Pramod Panda was arrested by CBI on December 19, 2014 and sent to Jharpada jail in Bhubaneswar. CBI sleuths slapped charges on Panda of larger conspiracy and deriving undue financial benefit from AT group.
