Over 300 Maoist Supporters surrender in Malkangiri

maoists-surrender in MalkangiriBy Dinesh Patnaik: As many as 370 Maoist supporters surrendered in last 15 days in Malkangiri district. According the police sources, Maoists supporters in the district have surrendered before Superintendent of Police Mitrabhanu Mohapatra (IPS). The recent development could be seen as a biggest achievement for the police and state government in the anti-naxal movement.

The supporters alleged the Maoist leaders in the district of suppressing their voice and killing innocent people. Surrendered villagers assured to police that they would not support Maoist outfits in the district.  The surrendered villagers belong to Kalimela’s Olarguda, Gumlerguda and Integuda. Police have distributed blanket, sarees, and dress to the surrendered villagers.
