Over 80 Students in Odisha fall ill after eating sweets in Independence Day

As many as 88 students from Odisha have been hospitalised as they fell ill after eating sweets and food items in their respective schools on the occasion of 70th Independence Day celebrations.

Notably, around 70 children of Lipinda Panchayat in Sambalpur district fell ill after eating sweets that were distributed while celebrating the Independence Day in their school. The affected students were admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Likewise, about 18 students of the Tumbapadi Nodal ME School in Bhadrak district were admitted to Bhadrak hospital after developing nausea and vomiting due to the food item they had taken on the occasion of independence day celebration.
