Paradip Port DLR staff strike enters 2nd Day

paradip-port-dlr-staff-strikeThe Daily Labour Roll (DLR) staff of the Paradip Port on Wednesday launched an indefinite strike demanding a pay hike of their monthly salary to Rs 18,000. Their protest entered to second day today.

Over 700 DLR and contractual workers employed in different departments of Paradip Port Trust (PPT) have not been regularised despite 20 years of service.

However, the workers sat on a mass dharna in front of PPT’s officers’ club since yesterday.

Deputy Chairman, Paradip Port, N. Vaiyapuri said that the port administration has appointed a committee to look into the matter.
