People demand Judicial Magistrate First Class Court at Lanjigarh

Bhawanipatna, Oct 13: As many as 2000 people of Lanjigarh joined staged dharna followed by a rally here today demanding setting up Judicial Magistrate First Class Court at Lanjigarh.

They staged dharna under the aegis of ‘Proposed Lanjigarh JMFC Court Steering Committee’ in front of the district colletor office. They submitted a memorandum to the Kalahandi district collector addressing to the Chief Minister of Odisha.

The committee members demanded to set up court in Lanjigarh as they need to travel long distance for court work. They alleged that the governemnt has not taken any major initiative despite it declared to set a court in the area.

Rajendra Pratap Singh Deo, Convener of the committee said, “The state government  is allegedly planning to shift the propose d court to Biswanathpur from Lanjigarh.”
