PM Modi assures Odisha CM on Jagamohan Repair

jagannathTempleOdisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday had a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention on Jagamohan repair of Jagannath Temple in Puri.

Sources said that, the Prime Minister assured Odisha Chief Minister to take necessary steps for the repairing of Jagamohan. He further said that the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) would be given immediate directions for its repair.

Previously, the Director General of the ASI has rejected the estimated expenditure of of Rs 2.5 crore for the repairing of Jagannath temple. Chief Minister had written a letter to Modi to draw his attention to this matter. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to visit the Jagannath Temple today.

Ealier, Union Culture Minister Mahesha Sharma after holding a meeting with Union P&NG Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, had assured all help to Odisha and decided to send a team under Union Culture Secretary to assess the situation and take necessary steps.
