ONI Bureau: The Prime Minister’s Office has finally approved the VRS (Voluntary Retirement Scheme) application of Senior IAS Officer Aparajita Sarangi a day after the Odisha Government gave its nod.
Decks have been cleared for Aparajita Sarangi to join politics after this development. She tweeted last night,
“I just received my order, finally approved by our Hon’ble Prime Minister today. I am grateful to him for his kind acceptance and approval.
I look forward to the next journey with enthusiasm, positivity and optimism.
I seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath and good wishes of all”.
Aparajita Sarangi, a 1994-batch Odisha Cadre IAS Officer, was on central deputation since 2013. She was supposed to return to Odisha in October, but applied for VRS in September.
Aparajita Sarangi earned the reputation of an able administrator during her tenure. She brought several reforms in various departments she worked with. As the Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), she was instrumental in beautification of the City.
Aparajita Sarangi is all set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) if we believe the sources.
