Polavaram Row: SC directs six States to present their views by Wednesday

ONI Bureau: Supreme Court of India on Monday directed six states, including Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Karnataka to present their views by Wednesday on Polavaram-Indrasagar project.

Earlier, the Apex Court directed the Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha and Chhattisgarh governments to frame the issues for arguments in the petition filed by Odisha govt challenging the Central government’s decision in giving national project status to Polavaram project on river Godavari.

According to the petition filed by Odisha govt, the Polavaram project works were taken up in violation of the Bachawat Tribunal order.
