Portray Government’s Development Work: Manoranjan Panigrahi

Bhubaneswar, Sep 30: The officials of information & public relations department play vital role in presenting and disseminating information about many development oriented programmes of the government, said I & PR Commissioner-cum- Secretary, Manoranjan Panigrahi.

Presiding over a meeting of officials here on Tuesday, Panigrahi focused on the role and responsibilities of the officers in reaching people with governments’ development work. He urged to use the modern technology for the effective public relations campaign. He said that officials should work towards portraying the success of many government schemes.

In the meeting, officials were focused on the modernization of press rooms of the Secretariat building. Besides, the officials were also raised the problems being faced by them. There are only seven information officer posts for 39 departments of the state government. The officials urged to increase the number of the information posts to ease the work load on other officers. It was reported in the meeting that, Nodal officers of each department would help information officers in getting proper information.
