Prabasi Odia Utsav 2018 to be held in Delhi on August 19

ONI Bureau:   With an aim to promote Odia culture and traditions outside Odisha and strengthen the bonding and identity among Odias living in Delhi and its neighbouring areas, new Delhi-based Rashtriya Prabasi Odia Paribar (RPOP) will host the Prabasi Odia Utsav 2018 on 19th August at Markandey Bhawan, Chattarpur in New Delhi.

Prabasi Odia Utsav 2016 and 2017 were celebrated at Gurugram and Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida respectively. Around 5000 Odia people participated at the both events.

Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas (Independent Charge), Dharmendra Pradhan will be the Guest of Honour at this event.

Among other dignitaries, union minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram, former MP Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda and MoS for Culture Dr Mahesh Sharma will grace the occasion.

This event is expected to draw over 10,000 Odias living in Delhi and its neighbouring areas.

Dances like Goti Pua, Chau, Sambalpuri, Jodi Sankha troupes of Berhampur will be performed where the dancers will showcase rich culture and heritage of Odisha.
