Pradeep Majhi’s New Formula for Assembly Polls

ONI Bureau: Former Nabarangpur MP Pradeep Majhi, who is leading a battle to revive the Congress in Odisha while all other leaders are busy fighting for power and supremacy, has developed a new formula today.

On a day when Congress President Rahul Gandhi appointed former Union Minister Jitendra Singh as AICC In-charge of PCC Odisha, Pradeep accompanied by over 200 party activists, announced Mala Madhi as the candidate for Malkangiri Assembly constituency for 2019 polls.

Pradeep and the Congress workers gathered in front of the Kalimela Tehsil office in Malkangiri and unanimously announced Mala Madhi as party’s candidate without waiting for any directive from the High Command. The resolution passed at the meeting would be sent to OPCC for final approval.

While talking to the Odisha News Insight, neither he nor any dedicated worker of the Congress Party would want to become part of any dirty politics. “We are going to announce all 7 MLA candidates for Nabarangpur Parliamentary constituency, which spreads over 3 districts – Nabarangpur, Malkangiri and Koraput. He further hinted that sitting MLAs Bhujabal Majhi (Dabugaon) and Chandrasekhar Majhi (Kotpad) will be re-nominated.

It is believed that Pradeep has the blessings from Rahul Gandhi and may take over as the PCC President soon after 2019 polls so that he can make the youth brigade of the Congress a formidable force in the run up to 2024 assembly polls.
