Pradhan denies Vyapam Link; BJD, Congress seek his Resignation

Dharmendra Pradhan on Gas PriceAfter the NDTV report revealed how union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s travel expenses were covered by the Vyapam accused Sudhir Sharma in 2013, the Congress and BJD have started gunning for his head even though the Minister dismissed all allegations.

Pradhan denied any links with Sudhir Sharma, saying his travel Bill was footed by the party and he did not know who exactly booked the tickets. He claimed himself clean and alleged a conspiracy to malign him.

The I-T return 2013 file of Sudhir Sharma showed that he had indeed paid for Dharmendra Pradhan’s flight travel. Sudhir Sharma was arrested in 2014 and jailed.

The Congress Party has sought Pradhan’s resignation and asked him to assist in the CBI probe. The BJD has also echoed the same voice. The party has expressed grave concerns over the issue and said Pradhan may step aside for a fair probe into the scandal.
