Prakash Mishra takes charge as CRPF DG

Prakash-Mishra-DGPHumiliated by the Odisha Government earlier, which failed to acknowledge his contribution and achievements, former Odisha DGP Prakash Mishra made the state proud by assuming charge as the new Director General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in New Delhi this morning.

Shri Mishra was given the guard of honour by the CRPF. The CRPF DG post was lying vacant since November 30 following the retirement of Dilip Trivedi. Mishra will remain at the helm of affairs till February 2016. Prakash Mishra, a 1977-batch IPS officer from Odisha cadre, was earlier considered for the post of CBI Director, but failed to get the final nod.

It is believed that Prakash Mishra will play a key role in the anti-Maoist operation across the country and prove his mettle in the months to come. He was instrumental in curbing the Maoist menace in Odisha during his tenure as DGP.
