Prasad Harichandan assumes charge as PCC President

Prasad-Harichandan-PCCSenior Congress leader and former MLA from Satyabadi, Shri Prasad Harichandan formally took over as the new Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President of the Odisha unit. Harichandan chose the 130th Foundation Day of Indian National Congress (INC) to assume charge.

While vowing to revive the Congress on grassroot level, Prasad Harichandan was critical of the BJD Government in Odisha, saying it failed to fulfill the aspirations of the common people and many of its leaders are now found involved in corruption, scams and scandals.

“Congress will hit the streets to expose the ‘thugee’ government that has been ruling the state for the last 14-15 years. We will fulfill the expectations of the people who feel suffocated under the misrule of the BJD government,” he said.

Prasad Harichandan claimed that the Congress is united and all its leaders will join hands to fight for a common cause, i.e., to overthrow the corrupt BJD government. Several senior leaders of the party, including AICC in-charge of the state B K Hariprasad, his deputy Subhankar Sarkar, former PCC Presidents Jayadev Jena and Niranjan Patnaik, Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly, Narasingh Mishra, former Kalahandi MP Bhakta Charan Das, former Chief Minister Giridhari Gamang and Rajya Sabha MP Ranjib Biswal were present at the ceremony, which showed rare unity by the Congress leaders of Odisha.
