Prasad Harichandan scores a point by visiting Suando

When many top political leaders, including Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik did not bother to visit the birthplace of Utkalmani Pt. Gopabandhu Das in Suando, some eminent people such as freedom fighter Bhabani Charan Patanaik, politician Arya Kumar Gyanendra and senior journalist Pradyumna Satpathy took the lead by visiting the place, cleaning the dirty surroundings with the help of students and paying rich tribute to the departed soul.

It was a definitely a great move. Soon after, PCC President Prasad Harichandan, who was the former MLA of Satyabadi, visited Suando and paid his respect to Utkalamani. His gesture must be appreciated at an age when people like our CM considers Obama as his idol.

However, it would be more praiseworthy if Mr. Harichandan uses his experience, expertise and resources to secure the Gopabandhu’s memorial (Samadhi) at Suando and arrange regular maintenance of the place. Odias will be indebted to him for this gesture if he can do it.
