Pravasi Odia Utsav 2018 held in New Delhi

ONI Bureau: The Pravasi Odia Utsav 2018 (3rd edition) was held at Markandeya Bhavan in Chhatarpur area in New Delhi on August 26, 2018 with full fervor. Around 80 Odia organisations participated at the event, thanks to the efforts of organisers Utkal Jyoti and Rashtriya Pravasi Odia Parivar.

Lok Sabha MP from South Delhi constituency, Ramesh Bidhuri, MLA Kartar Singh Tomar and Shaktikanta Das, member of the 15th Finance Commission of India graced the occasion and shed light on rich Odia culture and tradition.

President of Utkal Jyoti Charitable Organisation, Sanjay Behera and Rastriya Prabasi Odia Paribar President & General Secretary of Utkal Jyoti Charitable Organisation & Founder & General Secretary of Kalinga Bharti Foundation Er.Akshay Kr Samal coordinated the event. Eminent Odia personalities – Dr. Venugopal (Medicines), Premananda Das (Social Service), Sushant Chand (Sports and Yoga) and Manoj Das (Entrepreneurship). Reeta Patra, Chairperson of Vijayani Foundation also played a key role in Raksha Bandhan celebrations.

The artists from Odisha enthralled the audience with their scintillating cultural performance. Around 7,000-8,000 people attended the Pravasi Odia Utsav 2018. Varities of Odia cuisine were the centres of attraction at the event. Brothers and Sisters celebrated Rakhi Purnima on the sidelines of the event.
