Pre-paid Auto Service in Bhubaneswar from March 22

Pre-paid-Auto-BBSRBhubaneswar will have pre-paid auto service from March 22, 2015. The services will be available at Master Canteen Railway Station, Baramunda Bus Stand and KIIT Square. The initiative will be jointly undertaken by the Commissionerate Police, RTO and Auto Association. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will launch the service.

In the first phase, 100 pre-paid autos will be available at the Railway Station. The Baramunda Bus Stand will also have the same number of auto-rickshaws. 50 autos will be available at the KITT Square in Patia.

For the pre-paid auto service, passengers will have to pay Rs 30 for the first two kms and Rs 10 per km for the next 20 kms. If the distance exceeds 22 km, then they will have to pay Rs 8 per km. Police Commissioner Rajendra Prasad Sharma expressed confidence and hope that the pre-paid auto service will largely help the commuters.
