The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee will host the ‘At Home’ function at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi today.
Four eminent freedom fighters from Odisha will be felicitated by the President at the ‘At Home’ ceremony to commemorate the anniversary of the Quit India Movement or Kranti Divas.
It is to be noted that, all these freedom fighters participated in the Quit India Movement in 1942 and got imprisonment by the British government.
Yesterday, Dr. Sunil Kumar Bhargava, IAS, Chief Resident Commissioner, Government of Odisha in New Delhi felicitated the veteran freedom fighters. The Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also congratulated the revered freedom fighters on Saturday.
Notably, the four freedom fighters named Bhawani Charan Patnaik from Nimpara, Dolagovinda Pradhan from Biribati in Cuttack district, Rabindra Nath Ray from Jagatsinghpur district and Nilamani Samal of Jajpur district from the State have received invitation from the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
