Prime accused in Jagatsinghpur minor rape & murder arrested from Cuttack

ONI Bureau:  Odisha Police successfully solved the rape and murder case of a minor girl in Jagatsinghpur district by arresting the prime accused from Cuttack on Wednesday.

The accused has been identified as Nanlaba Mana alias Kalia, a resident the same village was arrested from Badambadi bus stand in Cuttack city yesterday evening while he was trying to escape.

It is to be noted that the nine-year-old minor girl of Gada Harishpur had gone to a nearby cashew forest late night to attend nature’s call when she was allegedly raped by the accused.

Condemning the incident, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for the next of kin of the victim.
