Private Bus Owners’ Association threaten stir from March 14

ONI Bureau:  The All Odisha Private Bus Owners’ Association (AOPBWA) to launch state-wide strike from March 14 protesting operation of city buses on long routes, informed the AOPBWA general secretary Debendra Sahu today.

The association decided to go for indefinite strike over various demands including tax hike. Over 5000 private buses will stay off roads across the State from March 14 reportedly.

As per sources, the State government is planning to bring a Bill to increase tax collection that has been opposed by the Bus Owners’ Association.
