Priyanka Kumari crowned Miss Odisha India 2015

Priyanka Kumari (Gupta), a B.Tech (Computer Science) student at the KIIT University, has been crowned the ‘Miss Odisha India 2015’ at a glittering ceremony at Hotel Kalinga Ashok in Bhubaneswar tonight. The ‘Miss Odisha India 2015’ is part of Femina Miss India beauty pageant.

Priyanka, who hails from Ranchi (Jharkhand), impressed upon the judges with her answer and talent. When asked what success means to her, Priyanka answered, “It is really the height of life as my childhood dream to stand on such a platform to become Miss India and of course Miss World”.

Sonika Roy (Bhubaneswar), who is a student of Mass Communications, finished the first runners-up. She was asked “According to you, what is the best attribute for being an Indian woman”.

She answered, “Being an Indian woman, I can say they are beautiful both inside and outside. Also, they are strong enough to tolerate every odd in the world”. She also won the ‘Miss Photogenic’ award.

G. Harshita Naidu (Cuttack), who is a student BBA at Ravenshaw University, was asked “Who inspired you to become a beauty queen”?

She answered, “My mother. She is my biggest inspiration. A mother takes care of her child before her birth. My mother is like my sister. She does accompany me wherever I go”.

The Miss Odisha 2015 contest was sponsored by Khimji Jewellers. The judges of the final round, included Archita (Ollywood Star), Model Srishti Rana (Miss Asia Pacific 2013), Bennett Nathan (Business Consultant at Times Group) and Shivalika Sharma (Founder, TMA The Modelling Academy).
