Prof. Digambara Patra urges Odisha Govt to set up Universities in KBK

NRI Professor Digambara Patra has urged the Odisha Govt to set up universities in KBK region. Prof. Patra wrote a letter to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Higher Education Department and MPs of KBK districts in this regard.

Prof. Patra stated that the State Govt. has to take utmost care and sensitivity for the improvement of higher education in KBK region as the expectation level is very low since independence.

The State Govt. has granted autonomous status to three collages in Bhawanipatna, Balangir and Jeypore, but the interest of KBK region has been marginalized.

Prof. Patra requested Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to upgrade Govt. Autonomous College Bhawanipatna to an affiliated University for Kalahandi and Nuapada, as this region needs special consideration in development of higher education because of economic, social and political factors.
