ONI Bureau:  The agitating workers of the Therubali plant of Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA) in Rayagada district called off their stir after the assurance that their demands will be fulfilled within 3 months.

A tripartite meeting was held under the chairmanship of the District Collector in presence of SP, ADM and Sub Collector, IMFA officials and agitators today.

The authorities have given written assurances to fulfill their demands within a specific time frame, informed Jitu Jakasika, leader of the protests at IMFA plant.

Worth mentioning, earlier on Wednesday, an indefinite strike called by a group of employees and local people at the IMFA Therubali plant seeking fulfillment of their demands, including education, land issues, drinking water facility and many more. The agitators locked the main gate and prevented the staff to enter the factory reportedly.
