Pulses Hoarding: Govt Officials seals Godown in Bhubaneswar

Pulses-OdishaBhubaneswar, Oct 23: Acting on a tip-off, the officials of the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department raided a godown in Mancheswar area on Thursday. Officials seized a large number of sacks filled with pulses from the godown during the raid.

According to reports, the officials raided a godown of Manashya Associates located in Mancheswar area in the capital and seized illegally hoarded pulses. During the raid official found huge number of poly sacks packed with pulses and equal quantity was lying on the floor.  The stock of pulses in the premises were exceeding the stipulated limit of hoarding standards set by the Odisha government. As per official norms, a trader can hoard upto a maximum limit of 75 quintals. However, the owner of the godown denied the charges of hoarding pulses more than prescribed limits. Officials of the department told media that appropriate action would be taken against the trader for hoarding pulses illegally.
