Puri Talabania IIC transferred for assaulting Journo in BBSR

ONI Bureau: An Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) has been transferred to the district police headquarters for allegedly thrashing a journalist inside a hospital in Bhubaneswar.

The cop has been identified as Ramakant Patra, IIC of Talabania police station in Puri and he has record of hooliganism while on duty.

Reportedly, Patra met with an accident near Daya river on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar and rushed to Capital Hospital for treatment where the journalist had reached to cover the news.

When a TV reporter named Subhrakant Padhiary and his cameraperson started capturing his photos, the , IIC started punching and assaulting the journalist using vulgar words.

However, Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi has been taken immediate action in this regard and Patra was transferred to the district headquarters after that incident.
