Raghunath Mohanty appointed BJD Vice President

ONI Bureau: Former Odisha Minister Raghunath Mohanty who lost his post and was sidelined in the party following the dowry torture allegations levelled by his daughter-in-law Barsa Swony Choudhury, who later withdrew all cases after reconciling with husband, is back in party politics.

Raghunath Mohanty, a stalwart in Balasore politics, has been appointed as one of the Vice Presidents of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) with immediate effect, as directed by BJD President Naveen Patnaik.

Raghu Mohanty has also been appointed as the Observer of Dhenkanal District. It can be recalled senior leader Dr. Damodar Rout was in charge of Dhenkanal, but was sacked by CM Naveen Patnaik last month.
