Rajya Sabha By-poll: BJD Candidate Narendra Swain files nomination

Bhubaneswar, Dec 4: BJD Candidate Narendra Swain filed his nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha by-election on Thursday here. The election is scheduled to be held on December 14, the seat fell vacant after the death of BJD leader Kalpataru Das.

He filed nominations papers before returning officer-cum-Assembly Secretary Amiya Kumar Sarangi on the last date of filing of nominations for the election.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was also present on the occasion along with ten proposer of BJD and many other leaders of the party accompanied him during filing nomination papers. After filing nominations, Swain told media that he would support his party’s demands in the upper house.
